Robert Bafakulera, the new PSF boss
Robert Bafakulera is the new chairman of the Rwandan Private Sector Federation(PSF) after winning 137 votes out of the 155 votes cast on Friday during the elections of the chairmanship.
He beat his only opponent, Françoise Mubirigi – who got 18 votes.
Bafakulera will replace Benjamin Gasamagera who has been at the realm of the organization for two three year terms.
He is one of Kigali’s tycoons who is known for bringing Mukwano industries products to Rwanda, owns Highland apartments in Nyarutarama, and is one of the ten shareholders at Nyarugenge city market and among shareholders in Ubumwe house and hotel.
“Am very grateful for the sign of confidence in me. I am a businessman and I will advocate for the business community since I know the field very well,” Bapfakurera said after the results announcement.

Also during the voting exercise, Gishoma Eric was chosen as the new first Vice-chairman of the federation with 126, against Isabelle Uzamukunda, who received 25 even after she had thrown in the towel asking PSF electorate to vote for Gishoma.
Eugenie Mushimiyimana, the chairperson of the Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs was also elected as the second Vice Chairperson of PSF, with 144 votes.
Mushimiyimana was running against John Bosco Ndungutse from the Eastern Province as the only candidates racing for the position of 2nd Vice chairperson.
